We Love living here. We
moved here almost five years ago because my wife had become
very ill. We sold everything to move to Missouri to be closer
to her Mom where she could relax.
Praise God! The
wonderful news
is, after living here, she is completely healed! That is not
what the doctors had predicted.
Located
3/4 of a mile from Truman Lake
The house is
located one mile from the main road, off a gravel road, and down a
little lane. It is nestled in the woods less than a mile from Truman
Lake. We are 20-25 miles from Osceola, Clinton, and Warsaw. We are
right in the middle of all three cities.
Both
Osceola and Clinton have large hospitals. People can use Air Evac
Lifeteam to get to any of the hospitals in an emergency.
http://www.lifeteam.net/Default.aspx The cost for the service
is $55 a year for a family of two.
Boating,
Fishing, and Hunting
Truman Lake is internationally known for its fishing and boating. It
has 984 miles of shore line, and connects to Truman Dam which divides
Truman Lake from the Lake of the Ozarks.
We are 5.6
miles from a free boat launch. There are many others around us. Bucksaw
Marina is 17 miles by road and is very lovely and accommodating with
restaurants, hotel and cabins. You can check it out at http://www.bucksaw.com
The property has
three plus acres, and backs up to Army Corp Land with access to another
1300 plus acres. We have ridden our horses on that land all the
way to the cove and right down to the lake. You can relax and
fish, hunt, hike, ride ATVs around here.
The air is really fresh and clean. It feels so good to
take a deep breath. Our Granddaughters joked that there are even more
stars here at night then anywhere else. They commented that it is so
quiet and peaceful.
We have an exceptional well and septic. The well water is
really great and everyone likes the way it taste and there is no odor
to the water. We're going to miss the water! We also have a large
septic tank and septic field.
Master
Suite
The house has
more than 2600 square feet with three bedrooms, two and a half baths.
The master bedroom with a half bath is on the first floor. It is
located right next to the main bathroom that has the Jacuzzi and
shower. The main part of the house is on a slab.
Bedrooms #2 and #3 Upstairs
The other
two bedrooms are upstairs. We use the third bedroom as a sitting and
library area. This is adjacent to our large office and a full
bath.
Extended
DSL
We have extended DSL so you can surf the web and
work from home. This is a comfortable area to work a home business.
Newly
Renovated
We have completely remodeled the house
since we moved in. There is all new electrical wiring, carpeting,
flooring, tile in main bathroom, closets, kitchen cabinets, and counter
tops. Two of the bathrooms have new fixtures.
Kitchen
All the kitchen appliances are four years old
including the washer and dryer. There are two hot water heaters. One of
them is for the Jacuzzi tub. Having two hot water heaters also allows
two people to take separate showers at the same time in comfort.
The kitchen has a moveable island
with two large cabinets and three drawers. The island seats four for
eating. The kitchen has recessed lighting in the ceiling over the
counters. There is also a neat little walk-in pantry.
Next to the
kitchen is a wide hallway where there is
a bookcase, cabinet pantry with three drawers and a desk work
area. A great place for cookbooks, and menu planning.
The house has cedar beams and cedar on some
of the walls in the living room, family room, kitchen, and wide hall
before going upstairs.
Family
Room
The family room has a great panoramic view of
the wooded property from its many windows. The sliding glass
doors leads to the side deck from a formal dining area. There is
also an entry door leading to the outside.
Living
Room
The living room hosts a wood burning stove that
adds to the charm and cozy warmth on winter nights. The recessed
lighting in the ceiling above the wood burning stove highlights its
charm and adds to the romantic flavor.
This home gives you an open spacious feeling. We,
however, enjoy the cozy living room as our theater room and a place for
reading and meditation.
The
house has a whole house fan, baseboard heat, and a wood burning
stove in the living room.
There is a large utility, laundry room with two cabinets for storage
off of the family room plus an outside entrance from the side deck.
Most of the rooms have ceiling fans, plus there are three window air
conditioners that keep the house really cool and comfortable in the
warmer weather.
Storage
There is plenty of storage area including
cabinets, built-in linen cabinet in main bathroom, linen storage in
half bath off of Master bedroom, two coat closets and three walk-in
closets, plus a neat little walk-in pantry.
Exterior
The exterior
of the house has been recently power washed, stained and sealed,
caulked and painted. There is nothing to do but move in and sit on the
front porch swing and relax. Or better yet, relax in the inviting
two-person Jacuzzi in the main bathroom.
Circular
Drive
The circular drive makes it
very easy to move around with your vehicles and trailers.
Work
Shop , Barn, and Garage
The 24' by 36' metal barn has electricity with a
concrete floor. It also has a large sliding door, service
door, and garage door. Room for 2-3 vehicles. There is also a work shop
in one section of the barn.
Neighbors
and near by Iconium Country
Store
We have very nice neighbors. They are
mostly retired from various professions. They are helpful when needed,
but pretty much keep to themselves. Children in this area are bused to
school. You can't see any other house from our home.
Although we are private and secluded, we are near Iconium's Country
Store that has everything from gasoline to greeting cards, bread, pop,
and most of what you find in a 7-11. We are also near Snyder's Corner
gas station which has convenience type items.
The
Iconium store is known world wide for their famous peach
floats and also feature hamburgers, pizza and more. You can buy unique
gifts, artifacts, leather goods, and even lamps, furniture and area
rugs.
Iconium is also near the home of H. Roe Bartle Scout
Reservation, the worlds largest Boy Scout camp. During the summer you
can also enjoy a great meal at the Toad Suck Grill in Iconium.

Deck on West side off of sliding
doors and dining room.
